Wow, five days sure go by fast and I am pleased by the results. The promotion will probably end around Midnight tonight, but here the final numbers that I am counting:
Corona: #16,058
The Three Safeties: #12,702
Vessel: #12,993
Total Copies Downloaded: 83
I’m sure to someone like Stephen King or James Patterson, these numbers are probably not the greatest, but to me they are inspiration to work harder, write more, and not to give up. People are getting to know me and my writing and that is the most important thing here.
Of course, now I have to come up with new things to blog about but that’s not an issue.
Side News:
1) Parallax is still on track for July and I’m making more adjustments to my budget to get an editor and cover designer. I’m optimistic that this will be my best work to date…until the ones that come after….hehe.

Wallace here, with an update on my free ebook promotion for Corona, The Three Safeties, and Vessel.
Numbers always tell a story and these rankings are are no exception:
Corona: #17,492
The Three Safeties: #10,634
Vessel: 14,540
There are a few factors to consider when analyzing this information:
A) the rankings change every hour
B) This is my first promotion
C) I am very new at this aspect of creative writing
D) I have little to no objective standard by which to evaluate these numbers. All I know is that they go up and they go down. There’s no way for me to predict trends using this data.
Another aspect of this promotion so far is that almost 70 combined copies of these books have been downloaded. Granted, that could simply mean that people like free stuff, but I like to think that even with my newness that my writing is appealing to a new audience.
I like where this is going and plan on doing something similar when Parallax goes live. Thanks for your time, Guys, and Ever Forward. 🙂
Hi Guys, Wallace here and Day Three has come and gone. Here’s where we stand right now:
Corona: #14,662
The Three Safeties: #11,991
Vessel: #12,628
The Amazon numbers appear to be stabilizing at this point, but I feel good about them because the promotion has generated interest and that’s the whole point of this exercise. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking during this period and to me, putting out the stories was never about getting paid or receiving accolades. It’s about entertaining you guys and the more people who know about me, the better.
To me, this is a milestone because it bears out the results of my work over the past few decades and I’ve always digged the idea of doing my own thing and being my own boss.
Time to slip in a few somewhat related items:
1) Parallax: Work on Parallax is continuing. I’ve fixed the small plot glitch I ran into with Chapter 14 and am almost caught up with the beginning of Chapter 15. The word count is at 53,500 and climbing fast toward the target word count of 87500. I’m anticipating being (FINALLY! Hehe) ready for editor and cover designer by July 7 at the latest.
2) Indiegogo Campaign: The crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to pay for a professional editor and cover designer is still churning up interest. I have faith that my efforts in this regard will bear fruit, but whatever the outc ome, I’ll have the resources to get the job done.
3) Commitment: It took a while, but I’ve finally committed myself to my genre of choice, which is Sci-Fi/Adventure. Those are the kind of stories I love to tell and I think it’s best for me to specialize at this stage of the game. As good a writer as I may think I am, I don’t want to stretch myself too thin.
