I like to play with words. That being said, it’s time for a poem:
“Chaos Poetry”
I watched a mime get hit by a truck
Too much speed, not enough luck
He didn’t make use of the time he’s got
If he were a dog, his name would be Spot
Radiation in the Atmosphere
God, I hope it doesn’t come over here
If it does, it may cause harm
If I’m really lucky, I’ll finally get that third arm
Aliens in Space are avoiding us
Confusing we are, unable to suss
One day we may meet them out there
By then I’ll be dead so it’s hard to care
A page at a time a book is written
One then two until the last
To Createspace and Amazon the manuscript goes
What was once the Future then becomes the Past
This poem has gone on too long
If it had music, it might have been a song
I’ll say one thing if it’s the last I do
This kind of chaos is hard to undo
A page at a time indeed a book is written. I was hopping along in my mind as I read this. Sounds a bit sing-songy 🙂

I was trying to weave a little world-weary sarcasm in it. 😉

I liked it nonetheless, sarcasm and all 🙂

Thanks. I’d rather be known for my fiction, but occasionally a poem or two sneaks out. 😉

You are writer, so the words live in you and come out sporadically in all forms 🙂

HI Wallace,
I met you at Danny Ray’s Meet and Greet. I agreed with your comment about the value of Meet and Greets, so I came over.
I love your poem. I love rhyming poems. They are not easy to compost. I’ve tried.
Nice to meet you.

PS I know Jaqueline.

Nice to meet you too, Janice, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I don’t do many poems but I find they are great for spontaneous improvisation. Jacqueline’s a peach, ain’t she? 🙂

You too! (Can I call a man a peach?) I’ll tell you why. Thank you so much for following my blog! I was just about to call it a night (3:20 a.m. here in CA) when I saw the notice come in. I owe Danny a thanks. You were righ what you said there–the process works. I look forward to getting to know you better.
Janice
PS Your rhyming poem–Are you familiar with Shel Silverstein? I am (was) such a fan.

I suppose you could call a man a peach. As for Shel Silverstein, not registering at this moment but thanks to that wonderful thing we call Google, I can find out. 🙂

This is such a beautiful cross between silly and sardonic. I actually caught myself laughing at the relation to “Spot.”
